The Bhutanese American Majhi Community marked another milestone with the Third Convention of BAMC, held in Erie, Pennsylvania, on July 8th, 2023. Khem Rizal graced the event as the Chief Guest, while renowned Philosopher & Writer Denzome Sampang joined as a special guest. The convention continued to strengthen cultural ties and community spirit among Bhutanese Majhi families featuring discussions, cultural showcases, and opportunities for networking. This event highlighted the community's ongoing commitment to unity, heritage preservation, and their contributions to society at large.
The Bhutanese American community held two conventions titled "Bhutanese MAJHI Convention 2021 & 2022". The first took place on August 21st and 22nd, 2021, celebrating cultural heritage and community unity with ARJUN SUBEDI, CEO of Nakshatra Foundation, as the Chief Guest. The second convention was also held in Columbus on July 23rd and 24th, 2022, with BHUWAN PYAKUREL, the City Council member of Reynoldsburg, OH, as the Chief Guest continuing to foster cultural exchange and community engagement among Bhutanese Americans Majhi families nationwide. These events provided opportunities for celebrating traditions, and addressing community issues, & highlighting the community's vibrant cultural identity.
BAMC collaborated with different organizations to celebrate the Tihar festival of 2022. Attendees enjoyed a day filled with festive joy, culminating in thrilling fireworks at the end. It was a wonderful celebration!
